Well..... the bank holiday has been and gone. I kept to plan even when everyone around me was drinking wine! I divided my 250mls of wine into two spritzers made with soda water...wasn't too bad either!

I discovered a great breakfast which was posted by my consultant onto facebook: Chopped Super Free fruit, I indulged in Melon cut into large chunks and strawberries, with a mullerlight yoghurt. Very suprisingly it filled me up and kept me going for a long time.

So what else have I tucked into this weekend? Tandoori chicken with spicy pilaf, Homemade burgers with coleslaw and SW chips, Full English breakfast. This is not a bad "diet" at all...

Let me share with you my recipe for these lovely SW burgers:

500g Lean mince (Less than 5% fat)
Half a large spanish onion chopped
2 large garlic cloves
1.5 Tbsp Herbs de provence
Luke warm water (about 3rd of a glass full)

Mix the mince, onions, garlic and herbs together in a bowl until all ingredients are well spread within the mince mixture. Make a well and pour in the luke warm water. Combine the mixture with your hands until the water has softened the mixture. Divide into 8 large balls or 12 small balls. The luke warm water trick came from an Ina Garten recipe for meatballs and I have used it ever since - I think that it makes a difference!

I froze 4 for midweek meals.

Put into a wholemeal roll (60g) for a HEb with Reduced fat cheese (40g) for HEa, Mayo (1 syn) tomato and red onions.

I am already feeling healthier, I am drinking plenty of water and will be starting walk/running this evening - if hubby gets home on time!

Interestingly I sat and worked out the syn value of what I would have consumed over the bank holiday if I wasn't following slimming world. It stacked up to nearly 100 syns! In one day!

Try it, it certainly opens your eyes! :-)

First Day - Not Day One!

I have joined Slimming World!

At 9ish this morning off I trotted to a slimming world class. A little hesitant as: a. I have tried a zillion diets and not stuck to them (inc. Slimming world) b. I have never felt motivated at a class before. My last experience consisted of an annoying consultant telling us every other sentence to "save your syns for your gins" - if im saving any syns love its going on chocolate!

I walked in to a very busy room of slimming world devotees - this looked promising! I short time later a beaming, confident and friendly consultant welcomed me into the class. Phew! This lady not only knew her stuff, there was no mention of gin and I finally understood the mechanics of Extra Easy!!

I weighed-in at 13 stone exactly. I wasn't suprised, after two children very close together, eating garbage for the past 2 years and just recovering from a broken wrist the worse was to be expected.

So, my Club 10 (or, a loss of 10% of my weight) will be 11st 10lbs. I have given myself a target of 11 stone which is what I weighed when I got married.

So here goes nothing!! I will enter into this blog at LEAST once a week. I will post my ups, downs, food diaries and pictures but most importantly the results of my weigh-ins!!!

I like to read stories of weight loss, they give me masses of encouragement. I am hoping I will be one of those success stories and give you some motivation too. And, I am hoping by writing this blog it will keep me motivated to stick with it...

Day one tomorrow!!
